How do I order queen bees?

How much do your queen bees cost?
We quote on enquiry, because it depends on numbers and timing. Asking costs nothing and doesn't lock you in.
Are the queens mated?
Yes. Queens only leave Alice Springs once they're mated and laying, so you're not paying for a virgin queen and hoping for the best.
How do I introduce a new queen to my hive?
Leave her in the cage in the hive and let the bees eat through the candy plug over a few days. That gives the colony time to get used to her. Check after about a week that she's out and laying.
Can you ship queen bees interstate in Australia?
Yes. We ship to NSW, VIC, QLD, SA, TAS, ACT, and NT, subject to biosecurity requirements. We do not ship to Western Australia due to quarantine restrictions.
What queen bee genetics do you supply?
Our breeding program uses Ligurian x Italian lines selected for calm temperament, productivity, and adaptation to hot, dry conditions. The isolation of Alice Springs means our stock is naturally protected from many coastal pests and diseases.
