Boil your kettle. Let it sit for 2–3 minutes — you want the water around 45°C, not 100°C. If you can hold your hand near the steam comfortably, it's close enough.
Squeeze the lemon juice into your mug.
Add the grated ginger if you're using it.
Pour in the water.
Add the honey and stir until dissolved. It dissolves faster in warm water than it looks like it will.
Drink it while it's still warm.
