You can eat the wax - chew it like gum. It's good for you. The honey inside has been aged exactly as long as the bees decided it should be aged.
Sometimes you get pure honey cells. Sometimes there's pollen mixed in. Sometimes the bees added propolis because they felt like it. We don't argue with angry desert bees.
